Jefferson County School District’s accountability rating reaches an all-time high

The Jefferson County School District’s accountability rating reached an all-time high during the 2022-23 school year. The Mississippi State Board of Education approved official grades for Mississippi schools and districts Thursday, September 28, 2023, and Jefferson County School District earned 647 points, which equates to a B-rating.

Two Jeff High seniors make history by earning an associate degree

When Copiah-Lincoln Community College calls the names of its graduates to receive the associate’s degree in a few weeks, history will be made in the Jefferson County School District. Carmen Micha'el Kennedy and Terrell Walker Jr. will earn their first college degree before they receive their high school diplomas.

State Board of Education approves Jefferson County School District as one of five new Early Learning Collaboratives

The State Board of Education approved Jefferson County School District (JCSD) as an Early Learning Collaborative (ELC). As a result, JCSD joins a distinct group of 35 districts that will provide high-quality early childhood education pre-K programs to 4-year-old students.
