Greetings from the Administration, faculty and staff at the Jefferson County Vo-Tech Center where we are educating today for tomorrow’s professionals. We have (7) seven programs at the Vo-Tech Center: Allied Health, Business and Computer Technology, Residential Carpentry, Design Technology for Fashion and Interiors, Electrician, Masonry, and Welding. We have (1) one counselor, (2) two special populations personnel, (1) one secretary and (1) one custodian. There are (2) two vocational programs at the Jr. High School, Career Discovery and Computer Discovery. There are (4) four programs at the High School, Production Agriculture and Introduction to Agriscience, Family and Consumer Science, Technology Discovery, and Career Center Director.
We also offer adult classes. Some of the classes are CNA, Phlebotomy, Welding, Sewing and Fashion Merchandising, Computer Technology for the 21st Century, Masonry and Medical Office Management. The adult classes are offered to supplement skills for individuals who are already employed and to prepare individuals for employment who are not employed. After training the majority of our adults, approximately 90% enter the labor market without any problem. A large percentage of our high school graduates enter college and some go to work after high school.
