Tawanna Clark- Gibson, of Fayette, MS is a 7th grade Language Arts /Reading Teacher at the Jefferson County Jr. High School since 2009. She graduated from Jefferson County High School (2002), Alcorn State University (2007 -Bachelor's of Arts Degree and 2009-Master's of Arts in Secondary Education Degree). She married Chavez Gibson, Sr. March 03, 2007.They have three beautiful children, Takira (14), Chavez Jr. (8), and Charve’ (6). During her tenure at Jefferson Co. Jr. High, she has coached Cross Country, Track and Field, as well as Student Council and Beta Club Sponsor. She is an active member of the Alcorn Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she serves as a member of the following: Risk Management, Delta Gems, EMBODI (Chair), and Membership Services Committee
She is a member of New Life Empowerment Temple, lead by Pastor Lynell Thompson. She enjoys reading, traveling, teaching, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is a believer that, “All things are possible through Christ which strengthens me”. Her dreams have always been to inspire people through teaching. She feels that,” you’re learning in vain, if you’re not teaching”.
